A wave of excitement swept through Muhammadpuria village in Haryana’s Sirsa district after a local driver won a massive Rs 10 crore lottery. The winner, 35-year-old Prithvi Singh, supports his family by
working as a driver and had purchased a ticket for the Punjab Lohri–Makar Sankranti 2026 Bumper Lottery from Killianwali near Dabwali just days before the draw.
Prithvi, whose father Devilal is also a driver, lives with his wife, two young children, a brother, and extended family members. Still coming to terms with his sudden fortune, he said the win feels unbelievable. He explained that his priority is to ensure a secure future for his children, adding that he had tried his luck only twice before and never expected success on his third attempt.
“I want to use the money in securing my children’s future. Earlier I had bought lottery tickets twice and never imagined that I would be lucky in my third attempt itself,” Prithvi said.
Celebrations have continued at the family’s home as villagers and well-wishers arrive to offer congratulations. His wife, Suman Rani, who works as a school peon, said the family is overwhelmed by the support and hopes to use the money to fulfill their children’s dreams. “We are extremely happy and want to fulfill the dreams of our children with this money,” she said.
Their six-year-old son, Daksh, already has plans of his own, saying he wants a large, luxury car. Madan Singh, the lottery ticket seller from Killianwali, said he has been in the business for many years and that winners frequently come from Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan, but this Rs 10 crore prize is especially significant. The village sarpanch echoed the sentiment, noting that Prithvi’s win has brought immense joy to the entire community.
