actress and wife of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Soni Razdan, has also hopped onto the viral nostalgia wave of ‘2016’ trend, treating fans with a carousel of unseen throwback photos from that year.
The actress took to social media and posted a bunch of pictures, spanning family moments, film sets, birthdays and holidays.

Sharing the photo dump, Razdan reflected on a poignant milestone from that year, when both her daughters, Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt, moved out. “2016 is a thing it seems… hmmm. Welll. Both my babies moved out of my nest at the end of that year,” she wrote, adding that she was away shooting No Fathers In Kashmir at the time. “Thank God, I went off to shoot the film… and missed them actually walking out of the house. It would not have been easy. Might have fallen apart…”
The carousel opens with a selfie from the No Fathers In Kashmir set, followed by a picture with Alia and Shaheen, whom she affectionately captioned “My hearts.” Other snippets include interview memories, a refreshing day out in the English countryside, cousins in Paris, funky pictures, and birthday celebrations.
There were also pictures of her father sipping on drink during her birthday, a Femina cover of Alia Bhatt with father Mahesh Bhatt, more moments from the film set, and a family holiday at the end of the year.

The actress and filmmaker tied the wedding knot to Mahesh Bhatt in 1986, when she was at the peak of her career. Soni Razdan is the mother of two daughters, Shaheen Bhatt and actress Alia Bhatt, and stepmom to Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt.

Born in Birmingham to a British-German mother and a Kashmiri Pandit father, Soni Razdan is a British-born Indian actress and filmmaker known for her performances across film, television, and theatre. She began her career in theatre before making a mark on television with serials like Buniyaad and Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum. Soni later delivered memorable performances in films such as 36 Chowringhee Lane, Mandi, Saaransh, and Khamosh.
She was last seen in the musical biographical drama film, Songs of Paradise, which premiered on the OTT giant Prime Video in August 2025. Directed by Danish Renzu, the film is loosely based on the life of legendary Kashmiri singer Raj Begum, also known as the Nightingale of Kashmir.
