The makers of Mirzapur: The Movie unveiled its much-awaited first teaser on June 25, offering fans a thrilling glimpse into the big-screen adaptation of the cult franchise. Brimming with high-octane action,
intense drama, suspense, romance, and the signature bhaukaal that defines the Mirzapur universe, the teaser introduces both familiar faces and exciting new additions. Joining the ensemble are Ravi Kishan, Jitendra Kumar, and Sonal S. Chauhan, while fan-favourite characters return with performances from Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Rasika Dugal, Abhishek Banerjee, Mohitt Malik, Sheeba Chadha, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Shekhar Gupta, and Shweta Tripathi.
For the first time, the Mirzapur universe is heading to the big screen, taking the franchise beyond its OTT roots and into theatres. While retaining the gritty tone, intense drama, and high-stakes power struggles that made the series a phenomenon, the film is set to expand the narrative with a brand-new chapter. Continuing the timeline established in the show’s debut season in 2018, Mirzapur: The Movie promises an epic untold story crafted specifically for a theatrical experience.
The teaser transports viewers back into the gritty and volatile world of Mirzapur, with Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Divyenndu reprising their iconic roles. One of the biggest surprises is Jitendra Kumar’s entry as Bablu Pandit, marking the return of the beloved character in a fresh avatar. The film also introduces Ravi Kishan to the franchise, adding a formidable new force to the already complex power dynamics. Expanding beyond the familiar lanes of Purvanchal, the story stretches across diverse landscapes, including Rajasthan, promising a grander canvas and an even more immersive cinematic experience for audiences. Sharing the teaser on social media, the makers wrote, “Witness the epic untold story, this September. Get ready for bhaukaal on the big screen. Mirzapur: The Movie is presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, written by Puneet Krishna, and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment and co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani, the film is slated for a grand theatrical release on 4th September 2026. Bringing the bhaukaal to an even wider audience, Mirzapur: The Movie will be released in Hindi and Telugu.
