Lollapalooza India is back for its fourth edition and will be taking place this weekend. This time around, Linkin Park and Playboi Carti will be headlining the concert. Afsana: The Somaiya Storytelling Festival 2026 invites you to experience Bindu: Centred Metaphors—a two-day immersive celebration spotlighting Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh’s rich oral, folk, and performative traditions. Rooted in Adivasi narratives, bardic forms, mythic retellings, and land-river folklore, Afsana opens vital cultural dialogues on centre vs. margins, memory, and living heritage. The event is being chaired by Amrita Somaiya, Kitab Khana co-owner and Somaiya Trust Trustee.
Regional voices like Shobha Tirkey, Krutika, Geetanjali Wani, Laxmi Subhash Yadav, and Bhavna Mohile & Abhishek Rane share rare Oraon and Baiga traditions and intergenerational tales. Anoushka Shankar in Kolkata
The city of Joy is set to welcome the international sitarist, who has earned several firsts – the youngest and first female recipient of a British House of Commons Shield, the first Indian woman to perform live at the Grammy® Awards, the first Indian woman to be nominated and one of the first five female composers to have been added onto the UK A-level music syllabus. Anoushka Shankar in June 2024 was the recipient of an honorary degree in music from Oxford University.
