On Monday, Ram Gopal Varma took to X (formerly Twitter), and descried his earlier films Satya, Company, and Sarkar, as a homage to his former guru- American filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. However, he wrote that after seeing the impact of Dhurandhar 2, his upcoming film ‘Syndicate’ will be his ode to his ‘new guru’ Aditya Dhar. “Post experiencing the impact of #Dhurandhar2 , in the same breath of letting go of the past and inventing a new future , if SATYA, COMPANY and SARKAR were my ode to my old guru COPPOLA, my next film SYNDICATE , will be my ode to my new GURU @AdityaDharFilms,” he wrote.

In 2025, Ram Gopal Varma announced that his next project, Syndicate would be his biggest film to date which will explore “a terrifying organisation which threatens the very existence of India.” It will be focusing on the theme, “Only man can be the most terrifying animal.” He promised to redeem “all his cinema sins” committed in recent years with Syndicate.

Meanwhile, in a recent post on X, Ram Gopal Varma reacted to the success and impact of Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar 2, and praised Aditya Dhar. He suggested that the film industry is literally ‘trembling’, and that directors should discard outdated script drafts and must evolve to match what the audiences now respond to.
