Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is struggling at the box office. The Yash-starrer faced multiple delays before finally releasing on August 24, 2026. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film faced mixed reactions
from audience and critics alike. Unfortunately, Toxic failed in the crucial Monday test as it witnessed the lowest single-day collection of the film so far.
Toxic Box Office Collection Day 6
The film made a spectacular start at the box office, raking in ₹101 crore net and ₹120 crore gross across India on its opening day. That gave Toxic the second-biggest opening ever for a Kannada film and also placed it second among Indian releases this year, trailing only Dhurandhar 2, which opened at ₹103 crore domestically.
However, the momentum quickly faded. After the massive Wednesday opening, collections dropped to ₹37.65 crore on Saturday, with expectations that the weekend would bring some recovery. Instead, Toxic earned ₹25.15 crore on Saturday and ₹23 crore on Sunday.
Monday offered little respite. Despite crossing ₹200 crore in India net, the film has recorded a steady fall in daily earnings since its opening. As per trade tracker Sacnilk, Toxic had collected ₹7.45 crore by 10 PM on Monday, making it the film’s lowest single-day haul so far. Its India net total now stands at ₹221.55 crore.

It is excessive, moody, violent, ornate and occasionally uneven, yet there is an undeniable pulse beneath all that smoke, blood and swagger. Geetu Mohandas does not merely build a gangster drama around Yash’s towering presence. She fashions a bruised fable about inheritance, desire, rage, power and the sins that travel quietly from one generation to another. The film falters when it forgets its women and overindulges in its own spectacle, but when it works, it has the feverish magnetism of a nightmare told under golden lights. Toxic is not clean, gentle or perfectly disciplined cinema. It is messy, seductive and morally corroded, and perhaps that is exactly why its grown-up fairy tale leaves behind a bitter, lingering aftertaste.”
