Sensex Today: Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty opened largely flat on Tuesday as investors tracked developments around the expected India–EU free trade agreement announcement.
The BSE Sensex began
the session at 81,436.79, lower by 100.91 points, while the Nifty50 opened at 25,063.35, up a marginal 14.70 points.
Among Sensex constituents, Axis Bank, UltraTech Cement and Adani Ports led the gains. In contrast, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Eternal and M&M were the top drags.
The broader market showed mild weakness, with the Nifty SmallCap 100 index slipping 0.26 per cent and the Nifty MidCap 100 index declining 0.13 per cent.

Global cues
Asian markets traded mixed after US President Donald Trump rekindled tariff concerns by threatening higher duties on South Korea. South Korea’s KOSPI rose as much as 0.7 per cent after an early decline, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 was up 0.1 per cent at last check.
US equities ended higher on Monday as investors positioned themselves ahead of key mega-cap earnings and the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision later this week. The S&P 500 gained 0.50 per cent, the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.43 per cent, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.64 per cent.
