More than two decades later, that middle-parted hairstyle, Radhe’s heartbreak and those unforgettable songs are back on the big screen and fans are clearly feeling the nostalgia. Tere Naam, starring Salman
Khan, returned to cinemas on Friday, February 27, 2026, and opened to a modest but encouraging response.
The romantic drama, directed by Satish Kaushik and co-starring Bhumika Chawla, collected approximately Rs 25 lakh on its first day, according to Pinkvilla. The film has been given a limited release across India, and the promotional buzz remained subdued, particularly as Salman Khan did not actively publicise the re-release on his social media platforms.
Some social media users had questioned the timing of the re-release, noting that it coincides with Ramzan. Despite that, the opening day figures indicate steady interest, especially considering the restrained rollout.
Trade observers believe the film could see growth over the weekend. Several videos circulating online show enthusiastic audiences cheering during Salman’s entry sequence and even dancing inside theatres, signalling strong recall value and emotional attachment to the character of Radhe.
Originally released in 2003, Tere Naam had an average run at the box office. Made on a reported budget of ₹10 crore, the film earned ₹15.14 crore net in India. Its worldwide gross collection stood at ₹24.55 crore at the time.
The re-release trend has gained momentum in recent years, with older titles finding renewed success. Last year, Sanam Teri Kasam performed strongly during its re-run, collecting around ₹34 crore. It remains to be seen whether Tere Naam can match or surpass that figure in the coming days.
