123 Telugu reported that producer Sudhakar Mikkilineni of Yuvasudha Arts announced that the film will begin shooting from May 2026 and is expected to release in 2027. He made these comments during an event held last night at Bathukamma Kunta in Jangaon.

However, after the new version was narrated, the lead star reportedly felt it fit the narrative too forcefully. This led to the movie getting shelved for an uncertain period of time. It is noteworthy that no such official confirmation has been issued by the makers so far. Devara – Part 1 had a strong opening, earning approximately Rs 82.5 crore in the domestic box office on the opening day, according to Sacnilk. The action-thriller then saw significant growth, with a worldwide collection of over Rs 300 crore in its first week of release. The movie, reportedly made on a budget of Rs 260-300 crore, earned a total worldwide collection of approximately Rs 421.63 crore, including Rs 344.5 crore earnings in India.
When Devara: Part 2 Was Announced
Earlier, on Devara: Part 1’s release anniversary, the makers made a stunning announcement on X. They revealed that the sequel was still in development.

Devara: Part 1 Marks Janhvi Kapoor’s Telugu Debut
Besides Jr NTR, the movie features Janhvi Kapoor (in her Telugu debut), Saif Ali Khan, Kalaiyarasan, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Srikanth, Murali Sharma, Abhimanyu Singh and others in key roles.
On the work front, Jr NTR is working on another action entertainer, tentatively titled NTRNeel (Dragon). Directed by Prashanth Neel, the movie is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 25, 2026.
