For fans of Bollywood, the 90s will always be synonymous with Shah Rukh Khan. From the dreamy romance of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge to the playful charm of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, he wasn’t just an actor,
he was the heartbeat of an era. And now, as the 70th Filmfare Awards approach, the King Khan himself is taking fans on a walk down memory lane. He was seen rehearsing some of his most iconic 90s tracks ahead of the grand evening in Ahmedabad.
Shah Rukh arrived in the city late Friday night and headed straight to the EKA Arena for rehearsals. Videos from the session, which quickly went viral on social media, show him bringing the same charisma and energy that made audiences fall in love with him decades ago.
Rehearsals bring back 90s memories
Videos shared on social media show Shah Rukh rehearsing some of his most iconic songs from the 1990s. He was seen performing Ladki Badi Anjani Hai from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and the timeless Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge track, Tujhe Dekha Toh, on stage. Fans outside the venue gathered early in hopes of catching a glimpse of the star.
SRK Fans United posted a video showing Shah Rukh dancing alongside backup performers on stage. Dressed casually in a grey sweatshirt and cargo pants, he recreated the famous steps of Ladki Badi Anjani Hai, delivering a lively rehearsal performance.
The same post also captured a large crowd outside the arena in the early hours of the morning. “King Khan rehearsing for Filmfare award with crowd gathering outside the stadium at 3 am,” the caption read.

A nostalgic return
Shah Rukh Khan was announced last week as one of the hosts for the 70th Filmfare Awards, alongside Maniesh Paul and Karan Johar. Speaking about the honour, he said, “From the first time I held the Black Lady in my hands, to sharing countless memories with my colleagues and fans over the years; it’s been a journey of love, cinema, and magic. To return as a co-host for the 70th year is truly special, and I promise we’ll make it a night to remember, full of laughter, nostalgia and celebration of the movies we all love.”
Current projects and upcoming films
Since his last film Dunki in 2023, Shah Rukh has appeared in a cameo in his son Aryan Khan’s web series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, which he also produced. He is currently filming King, directed by Siddharth Anand, which marks his first on-screen collaboration with daughter Suhana Khan. The film also features Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Abhay Verma, Raghav Juyal, and Anil Kapoor. King is slated for a 2026 release.
