Dhadak 2, the Shazia Iqbal directorial romantic drama featuring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, was released in the theatres on August 1. Now, the film is finally ready to debut on Netflix. The
streaming giant took to their Instagram account to announce the OTT release of the film. Dhadak 2 will be out on Netflix tomorrow, September 26.
The film promises a raw, stirring portrayal of love that challenges societal boundaries and defies deeply entrenched power structures. Siddhant Chaturvedi plays Neelesh, a young man navigating the harsh realities of identity, caste, and survival. Triptii Dimri stars as Vidhi, a woman born into privilege but torn by her inner truth and growing love for a man society deems ‘beneath’ her.

Director Shazia Iqbal, known for her strong voice in storytelling, explained the soul of the film best: “Dhadak 2 is an emotional reckoning for today’s youth. It’s rooted in reality and asks questions that we often shy away from in cinema. Neelesh and Vidhi’s story is about love, but it’s also about survival, identity, and what it costs to be true to yourself in a world designed to silence you.”
News18 Showsha’s Review of Dhadak 2
Siddhant Chaturvedi steals the show in this film. He doesn’t just play Nilesh, he becomes him. His sincerity on screen is so raw that every slap, every insult he endures hits the audience just as hard. He makes us believe in the honesty of his character, and by the end, you’re rooting for him with your whole heart. A true green-flag boy, as Vidhi would say. The green flag boy—away from the “men’s problem,” as Vidhi likes to call it.
Meanwhile, Triptii Dimri does an equally compelling job. The innocence and the charm she had were somewhere getting lost in the glamour and glitz of some of her previous projects. But with Dhadak 2, she does justice to her role as Vidhi Upadhyay. Triptii comes across as a girl you can find in your household or maybe in your neighbourhood. She is that believable, and it’s a total win.
Dhadak 2 is the kind of film that screams good storytelling, and hence, it’s a clear reminder to everyone that good movies can still be made if the heartbeat (Dhadak) is in the right direction. If you’ve been craving an honest romantic thriller that’s believable, then trust me and don’t miss this one.
The film is produced by Karan Johar, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Aroraa, Somen Mishra, and Pragati Deshmukh under the banners of Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures.
