Jaaved Jaaferi also shared the motion poster video with his followers and his transformation is nothing short of jaw-dropping. With his face coated in metallic gold paint, long silver-streaked hair and a mysterious mask covering much of his face, the actor appears completely unrecognisable — setting the tone for a dark, immersive world.

The eerie visuals paired with this cryptic message suggest that Barve is once again venturing into ambitious, genre-bending storytelling reminiscent of Tumbbad, which earned cult status for its atmospheric horror-fantasy style.

According to reports, Rahi Anil Barve began conceptualising Mayasabha shortly after Tumbbad’s monumental success. The director reportedly completed the film in 2020, but despite being ready for release, it has remained shelved for several years. With the new poster now out, anticipation around the film’s eventual release is higher than ever.
