Cheekatilo revolves around Sobhita Dhulipala’s character Sandhya, a criminology graduate and true-crime podcaster. Her investigative podcast soon turns into a dangerous pursuit after a shocking murder reveals clues linked to a serial killer whose crimes date back almost 20 years.

Earlier, Sobhita talked about her character Sandhya, a true-crime podcaster, and the emotional journey she experiences in the project. She described Sandhya as a natural leader who doesn’t let uncertainty control her decisions. The actress told Filmfare, “What interested me was the responsibility inherent to the role. Sandhya isn’t chasing drama; she’s chasing clarity. That mindset, of asking uncomfortable questions and remaining steady in uncertainty is something I carried forward from this experience.”
Talking about her character, Sobhita said, “There’s a quiet decisiveness to her. She’s driven by the need for clarity rather than validation, and that steadiness is what ultimately moves the story forward.”
When Does Cheekatilo Release?
Cheekatilo, directed by Sharan Kopishetty, is produced by D. Suresh Babu under Suresh Production Pvt Ltd. The film stars Viswadev Rachakonda and Sobhita Dhulipala, with Chaitanya Visalakshmi, Esha Chawla, Jhansi, Aamani, and Vadlamani Srinivas in key roles.
Cheekatilo is set to premiere on Prime Video on Friday, January 23, 2026.
