Mumbai Police on Friday clarified that no complaint has been filed against the woman who had angrily confronted Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan over a massive traffic jam allegedly caused by a political
rally in Worli earlier this week.
However, police on Wednesday registered a case against the organisers of the rally for alleged violation of norms.
The clarification came after reports emerged that a complaint has been filed against the woman whose angry outburst over the traffic jam caused by the rally in Worli went viral on social media platforms.
“No FIR has been registered against the lady. We request you and everyone to verify the facts from official channel before posting on social media and refrain from spreading misinformation,” the Mumbai Police said in a post on X.

What’s The Row?
Police had given permission for Tuesday’s Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam Rally over the defeat of the women’s reservation bill, but there was a violation of certain norms, an official said as quoted by news agency PTI.
A case in this regard was registered at Worli police station.
An agitated woman confronted BJP minister Girish Mahajan on Tuesday when he was speaking to reporters at the rally, shouting at him for blocking roads and causing inconvenience to commuters.
“Get out of here. You are causing a traffic jam,” she said, asking why the rally could not be held at the nearby open ground.
The woman, who was on her way to pick up her child from school, was left stranded in traffic for several hours. Frustrated by the standstill, she stepped out of her vehicle, walked into the centre of the march and engaged in a heated exchange with the minister.
She also confronted the organisers over road blockades and the inconvenience caused to commuters, demanding that the crowd disperse.
The commuter also directed her anger at the Mumbai Police. When officers tried to intervene, she insisted on speaking to senior officials and declined to engage further.
Police personnel later escorted her to the side of the road and attempted to hear her concerns.
The episode, captured on video, quickly circulated online.
