Delhi Police filed an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bhardwaj, Sanjay Jha and Adil Khan for hurting religious sentiments through social media content.
The case has been filed following
a complaint accusing the leaders of sharing videos that showed a political skit performed in public at Connaught Place on December 17 and 18, 2025. The videos were uploaded through their official social media handles.
According to the complainant, the videos featured individuals dressed as Santa Claus, a religious and cultural figure associated with Christianity, being shown in a mocking and derogatory manner. The characters were seen “fainting” and “collapsing” on the street and were allegedly used as props for political messaging.
The complaint further states that the videos show mock CPR being performed on the Santa Claus figures, which the complainant claims ridicules a symbol connected to the legacy of Saint Nicholas and the Christmas festival.

The complaint mentioned that the offenders have committed a deliberate and malicious act intended to outrage religious feelings. It also said that using a religious icon to create a “political ruckus” during the final days of Advent showed a clear intent to insult the Christian faith.
Delhi Police have booked all three leaders based on the complaint under relevant sections, and an investigation into the matter is underway.
