Five players – Nitish Rana, Krish Yadav, Digvesh Rathi, Sumit Mathur and Aman Bharti – on Friday (August 29) were penalised for a Code of Conduct breach during the Delhi Premier League (DPL) T20 2025 Eliminator
match played between West Delhi Lions and South Delhi Superstarz at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In the high-voltage match, which the West Delhi side won by 7 wickets after chasing down the 202-run target in 17.1 overs, Rana got involved in a heated verbal fight with Rathi during the run chase, and then his teammate Krish fought with Bharti and Mathur after getting out in the 11th over of the second half of the match.
In several videos going viral on the internet, players from both teams can be seen losing their cool and charging towards each other in an aggressive manner.

In a release shared by DPL T20 following the conclusion of the match, Rathi was fined 80% of his match fees, whereas Rana and Mathur were fined 50% each. South Delhi pacer Bharti was penalised 20% of his match fees, and Krish was fined 100% of his match fees.
“Digvesh Rathi has been fined 80% of the match fees for a code of conduct breach under Article 2.2 (Level 2) for conduct contrary to the spirit of the game,” DPL T20 stated in a release.
“Nitish Rana has been fined 50% of the match fees for a Code of Conduct breach under Article 2.6 (Level 1) – Using a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during a match.”
“Aman Bharti has been fined 30% of the match fees for a Code of Conduct breach under Article 2.3 (Level 1) for the use of audible obscenity during a match.”
“Sumit Mathur has been fined 50% of the match fees for a Code of Conduct breach under Article 2.5 (Level 1) – Using language, actions or gestures which dispart ge or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player.”
“Krish Yadav has been fined 100% of the match fees for a Code of Conduct breach under Article 2.3 (Level 2) for the use of audible obscenity during a match following abuse from the opposing team player and pointing the bat towards the player.”
Rana and Krish will be seen in action on Saturday (August 30) again when West Delhi Lions will face East Delhi Riders in the second qualifier match of DPL 2025.
