The Jolly LLB franchise has always packed drama, humour, and courtroom chaos, and the third instalment is no different. This time, fans will see Akshay Kumar’s Jolly face off against Arshad Warsi’s Jolly,
in what many are calling the franchise’s biggest face-off yet.
According to the censor certificate issued on September 2, Jolly LLB 3 runs for 2 hours 37 minutes and 16 seconds – a total of 157.16 minutes, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama. The CBFC cleared the film with a U/A 16+ rating after suggesting a series of small modifications that don’t impact the story.
Among the edits:
- The old disclaimer was replaced with a new one.
- An alcohol brand shown in the film was blurred.
- The makers were asked to include a fictional place and year at the beginning.
- The word “f****r” was removed wherever it appeared.
- A scene of cops assaulting an old man was toned down.
- A dialogue was modified to “Emergency Clause,” and a visible logo in the same scene was altered.
- Another logo on a file carried by Janaki (Seema Biswas) was blurred.
- In the second half, a dialogue was changed to “Janki amma ka gaon sirf ek…cheque muh pe fek ke mara.”
With these changes completed, the courtroom drama is all set for release.
Directed by Subhash Kapoor, who helmed the first two films, Jolly LLB 3 also stars Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, Seema Biswas and Gajraj Rao. Given the popularity of the franchise and the buzz around Akshay and Arshad’s courtroom clash, expectations are sky-high.
Jolly LLB 3, directed by Subhash Kapoor, brings back the franchise’s signature courtroom comedy-drama with a twist: this time both Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi play rival lawyers named “Jolly.” The film continues with its socially relevant themes, focusing on land rights for farmers when a politician tries to grab their land, setting up a legal battle between two Jollys as they try to outwit each other in court. Returning cast members include Saurabh Shukla, Amrita Rao, Huma Qureshi, and Seema Biswas. The movie is set for release on 19 September 2025.
