In a shocking case reported from Maharashtra’s Nagpur, a woman was robbed inside her home. A man disguised as a delivery agent came to the victim’s house and snatched her Mangalsutra. The matter is under
the jurisdiction of Ajni Police Station in Nagpur.
The unidentified man claimed that he had come to deliver a parcel.
The victim, Ashwini Meshram, was alone at home when the accused arrived, pretending to deliver a parcel. Believing it to be food sent by her daughter, Ashwini opened the door. While she was signing a paper given to her, the accused suddenly pulled the mangalsutra from her neck. He managed to flee with three grams of gold, leaving the woman in shock.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV. Despite Ashwini raising an alarm, the thief escaped before neighbours could arrive. A case has been registered, and Ajni Police are tracing the accused based on the CCTV footage.
