Ranveer Singh has become a major force at the box office worldwide. With an astounding extended opening weekend haul of roughly $80 million (Rs 691–700 crore), Dhurandhar: The Revenge has exploded onto
screens worldwide. The eagerly anticipated sequel to the 2025 blockbuster is solidifying its position as the #2 film in the world and racing toward the coveted $100 million milestone.
Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, has reportedly achieved the unimaginable: it has placed a Bollywood movie at the top of the global box office, surpassing major Hollywood blockbusters like Hoppers, Scream 7, and Ready or Not 2 to take the #2 position.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge Overseas Box Office Collection
The Bollywood movie debuted with an incredible $2.5 million premiere, the highest for an Indian release ever. Even the lack of important Gulf markets, where its predecessor had done well, did little to halt its advance as overseas territories routinely provided $4 million or more every day. Its worldwide opening weekend reached $22 million by Sunday, with an astounding $9.6 million coming from North America alone.
The movie’s US premiere was $9.6 million, according to Box Office Mojo, making it the third-biggest movie in North America for the weekend, behind only Project Hail Mary, which made $80 million in its first weekend, and Hoppers, which made $18 million in its second.
Dhurandhar 2’s Historic Run at The Indian Box Office
In just four days, the movie made Rs 454 crore net (Rs 542 crore gross) at the Indian box office. The run was marked not just by its size but also by its consistency, with three days in a row surpassing ₹100 crore—a record for any Bollywood movie. As a result, its global opening weekend reached almost $80 million. According to Comscore, $56 million of it occurred between Friday and Sunday.
No. 2 in the World — and Climbing
For the weekend ending March 22, the $80 million start put Dhurandhar 2 in second place worldwide, only surpassed by Ryan Gosling’s sci-fi drama Project Hail Mary. It is a turning point for Indian cinema when a Hindi-language movie surpasses major Hollywood studio releases on the global stage. The movie is currently aiming for the $100 million milestone, which would place it firmly in the top earners worldwide for the year.
Despite not being distributed in India, Project Hail Mary made $140 million worldwide that weekend. But in second place, Dhurandhar 2 outperformed Hoppers ($52 million), Ready Or Not 2 ($12 million), and Scream 7 ($10.5 million). With $93 million in earnings worldwide, Send Help currently ranks #10.
