A video featuring an on-duty official, allegedly associated with the Uttar Pradesh Police, travelling in the second AC of a train without ticket has gained significant attention on the internet.
In the
viral clip, a person from behind the camera said that the official in uniform was travelling on the train without a ticket.
On being asked to get a ticket, the individual said, “Kyun banwaye? (Why should I get it made)?”
The official then mentioned that he was travelling “on duty” and belonged to Aligarh. He stated that a squad from Aligarh was present on the train.
The Official Was With Another Colleague
The police official was not alone and was joined by another colleague. They were even asked whether they have been proved a pass by the Railways to travel on the train.
Later in the video, the official even started cross-questioning the person behind the camera, who was allegedly the TTE.
On being asked to show his ticket or pass, he said, “I don’t have it.”
Towards the end of the clip, he even told the person recording on phone, “Tum kuch bhi banalo. Or banate rehna ise. Jis din mil gaye agli baar, uss din mein bata dunga (You keep recording it. I will tell you when I see you the next time).”
The post was shared with the caption, “When protectors become offenders. Ticketless police threatening TTE in 2AC shocking behaviour! Railway passengers deserve better!”

And The Internet Is Not Happy
In the comments section of the post, several people sought action against the official.
“These type of police who did wrong by going ticketless in 2AC will support others also whoever travels ticketless. May try to extort passengers at night, etc… @railminindia plz take appropriate action on such mentality of police,” one person wrote.
Another added, “Itni himmat aa kese jati h me to yahi sochta reh jata hu (How do they get so much courage? I just keep thinking this).”
A third person wrote, “@railminindia wake up”.
Apart from Instagram, the clip was also shared on X on The Nalanda Index on February.
“Police in Second AC for free… and bullying TTEs on top of it! While taxpayers foot the bill, these “protectors” treat other passengers’ seats like their personal thrones. Is this a salary-funded privilege or plain arrogance on rails?” read the post.
