After finishing at the bottom of the points table for the first time in the Indian Premier League (IPL) last year (2025), five-time champions Chennai Super Kings will look to come up with a big show in the cash-rich
league this time around and aim to win the cash-rich league title for the record-extending sixth time. The Chennai-based team signed as many as nine players in the IPL 2026 auction besides securing Sanju Samson in a trade deal with the Rajasthan Royals in exchange for Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran.
There will be high expectations from Samson in his first season as a CSK player after he bagged the Player Of The Tournament award in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. In addition to the 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Kerala, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni and Noor Ahmad will be key players for the Men in Yellow.
CSK are the joint-most successful team in IPL history in terms of titles won, and they have also qualified for the IPL finals for a record number of 10 times.
