for the Palestinian and Israeli people”. PM Modi further extended support to Trump’s effort to end the conflict and secure peace.
Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “We welcome President Donald J. Trump’s announcement of a comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict. It provides a viable pathway to long term and sustainable peace, security and development for the Palestinian and Israeli people, as also for the larger West Asian region. We hope that all concerned will come together behind President Trump’s initiative and support this effort to end conflict and secure peace.”

The development came after Trump released a 20-point roadmap that he said could bring “an immediate end” to the Gaza war if both Israel and Hamas agree. The plan was announced in Washington following Trump’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump Announces Gaza Peace Deal
In a major breakthrough, US President Donald Trump on Monday announced that “Israel won’t occupy Gaza”, adding that he was “close” to clinching an agreement that could end the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.
The US President also extended his “full backing” to Israel, if Hamas rejects the deal, saying that the “tyranny of terror has to end”.
Gaza Peace Plan
If both Israel and Hamas agree to Trump’s proposal, the war in Gaza will “end immediately” with the release of hostages and prisoners from the two sides and a demilitarisation. Following the release of hostages and disarmament of Hamas, Israeli forces will start withdrawing, with all military operations suspended and battle lines frozen.
Hamas would release all the Israeli hostages, dead or alive, within 72 hours of Israel accepting the proposal. Once the hostages are released, Israel will free 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 1,700 Gazans arrested after the start of the conflict on October 7, 2023.
