With just eight days to go for Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups to hit cinemas, the makers have officially kick-started the countdown to the film’s worldwide release. Sharing a striking new poster featuring
Yash on Tuesday, the team announced that advance bookings for the Geetu Mohandas-directed film will open on August 21. The poster sees Yash in an intense avatar against a fiery red backdrop, further building anticipation as the film enters the final stretch of its promotional campaign.
The update comes shortly after the trailer of Toxic offered audiences a closer look at the film’s stylised world. The trailer sees Yash in a double role, while introducing the characters played by Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi. Set against a backdrop of crime, power and complicated relationships, the trailer offers a glimpse into the story and the world created by Geetu Mohandas.
Earlier, during his appearance at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, Yash spoke about the film. Opening up about the project, Yash said, “For the first time, I think, we have shot that film in English as well. So as a concept of the film, it’s very layered. Once again, it’s not a typical gangster action story. For the face value, it would look like a gangster movie with a lot of action. But it has got deep psychology and it’s got very interesting aspects of human life where you can resonate with. And it’s a very unique way to present a dark character is what I feel.”
Toxic has been shot in both Kannada and English and is set to be released in dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, giving the film a pan-India reach. Toxic was supposed to hit theatres on June 4, 2026. However, it was then postponed. The film is now gearing up for a release on August 26, 2026.
