Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 5: Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar has emerged as one of the biggest box office success stories of the year, maintaining a rock-solid grip on ticket counters since
its theatrical release last Friday (December 5). Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy action thriller has opened to overwhelmingly positive word of mouth, with audiences praising its gripping screenplay, slick direction, and powerhouse performances by its ensemble cast.
According to the latest update by Sacnilk, Dhurandhar collected Rs 26.50 crore by 10 PM on its fifth day in theatres. This takes the film’s total domestic net collection to a massive Rs 152.75 crore. What makes the feat even more remarkable is the fact that Tuesday’s numbers showed growth compared to Monday, a rare trend for a weekday in a film’s first week.
The film officially crossed the coveted Rs 150 crore mark within just five days of its release, placing it firmly among the fastest-grossing films in recent times.
The box office journey so far has been nothing short of spectacular. Dhurandhar opened with an impressive Rs 28 crore on day one. Riding on strong word of mouth, the film went on to collect Rs 32 crore on Saturday and hit its highest single-day total on Sunday with Rs 43 crore. Even the Monday collections remained strong at Rs 23.25 crore, proving the film’s extraordinary stamina at the box office.
With its current run, Dhurandhar has already surpassed the lifetime collections of several recent big-ticket releases. It has beaten Salman Khan’s Sikandar, which earned Rs 109.83 crore net in India. The film has also gone past Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force (Rs 112.75 crore) and Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma (Rs 134.78 crore).
The film’s success is being attributed not just to Ranveer Singh’s intense performance but also to its strong supporting cast and technical finesse. Dhurandhar is written, directed and co-produced by Aditya Dhar and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios.
The film features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, with Manav Gohil, Danish Pandor, Saumya Tandon, Gaurav Gera and Naveen Kaushik in supporting roles.
Adding to the excitement, the makers have already locked the release date for Dhurandhar: Part Two, which is set to hit theatres on March 19 next year. The sequel will clash with Yash’s highly anticipated film Toxic, setting up a major box office battle.
