Triumph has launched the much-awaited Thruxton 400 in India at Rs 2.74 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
This new café racer sits at the top of Triumph’s 400cc range, above the Scrambler 400 X, and is being hailed
as the most stylish model in the segment.
How Is It Different from the Speed 400?
The Thruxton 400 isn’t just about looks. Triumph has made several functional and mechanical changes over the Speed 400 to match its sportier image.
- The rear sub-frame has been reworked.
- Clip-on handlebars and repositioned footpegs now offer a more aggressive riding posture.
- A wide, reprofiled seat and a café racer-style semi-fairing add to the overall aesthetic and rider comfort.
Also, a seat cowl and redesigned tail section with a slimmer fender make it look sleeker and racier.
What’s Under the Tank?
The Thruxton 400 is powered by the same 398cc TR-series liquid-cooled engine, but here’s the twist – it gets a new camshaft that helps it deliver a higher 41.5bhp at 9,000rpm and 37.5Nm at 7,500rpm. That’s 2bhp more than the Speed 400.
Triumph has tweaked the suspension setup to offer a sharper, more engaging ride.
Color Options
The Thruxton 400 is available in four colours: Lava Red Gloss, Pearl Metallic White, Phantom Black, and Metallic Racing Yellow.
