Nora Fatehi broke her silence on the chaos that erupted after Senegal beat Morocco 1-0 in the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on January 19. The actor-dancer was at the Prince Moulay Abdellah
Stadium in Rabat to cheer for Morocco.
Besides a huge commotion from fans, Senegalese players walked off the pitch to protest a controversial penalty awarded to their opposition. Fatehi, who is of Moroccan descent, condemned some of the incidents that took place in the aftermath of the game.
Nora Fatehi Condemns Chaos At Senegal vs. Morocco
Senegalese fans and players protested strongly after the referee awarded Morocco’s Brahim Díaz a penalty in the extended 114th minute of the game. In an Instagram post, Nora Fatehi branded the reaction from the Senegal side as “one of the most unethical, disappointing and diabolical behaviour!”

“This taught us that in all circumstances, Morocco maintains class, prestige and exemplary attitude!” she added. Along these lines, the “Nora” hitmaker appreciated the experience she had at AFCON.
“I applaud the advancement, elevation and hospitality of the country and its people! This experience has shown us that Morocco is growing fast and will remain the top country in Africa!” she added.
Nora Fatehi’s Shout-Out To The Moroccan Team
While Morocco lost the game, Nora Fatehi hailed her favourite team. “Shoutout to our coach and the players for moving in dignity and pride! You have made us proud! Dima Meghreb!” she wrote.
Fatehi also thanked non-Moroccan fans who showered their support on the team. She added that she had “some of the best moments” with her friends and loved ones. Fatehi said she witnessed passion and patriotism. “It’s more than football for us,” she wrote. “World Cup we coming,” Fatehi concluded.
Brahim Díaz On Missed Penalty
Brahim Díaz could not capitalise on the penalty Morocco received, CNN reported. He later said his “soul hurts” from the loss. “I messed up yesterday, and I take all the responsibility, and I apologise with all of my heart,” Díaz said.
“It will take a lot to get better because this wound won’t heal easily, but I will try,” he added.
