R Madhavan is on a roll. The celebrated actor will now be seen in a highly-anticipated project that will bring the incredible story of one of India’s greatest inventors to the big screen. With just a few
weeks left for its theatrical release, G.D.N has crossed an important milestone after receiving clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The makers announced on social media that G.D.N has been awarded a U/A certificate by the CBFC’s Regional Office in Thiruvananthapuram. Along with the certification, the film has been approved with a runtime of 2 hours and 27 minutes. To mark the announcement, they also unveiled a new poster featuring a suitcase, an object believed to play a key role in GD Naidu’s journey in the film.
The biopic stars R Madhavan as legendary inventor and industrialist GD Naidu, often referred to as the “Edison of India” for his groundbreaking contributions to science and technology. The film follows his inspiring journey from a curious young man to a visionary whose innovations transformed India’s industrial landscape by making technology more practical and accessible.
The film was originally scheduled to hit theatres on July 17. However, the release was reportedly pushed to August 7 to avoid a box office clash with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s much-awaited final film, Jana Nayagan, which is releasing on July 23.
Directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, G.D.N features an ensemble cast including Sathyaraj, Priyamani, Jayaram and Dushara Vijayan in key roles. The screenplay has been jointly written by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and R Madhavan.
The film is produced by Varghese Moolan in association with Tricolour Films, the banner founded by Madhavan and his wife, Sarita.
