After thirty years of marriage, a woman’s seemingly stable life unravelled in a moment following a shocking confession by her husband that left her “completely broken” and “disgusted”.
The woman shared
her ordeal in a popular advice column on the Mirror website, revealing that her husband had secretly been stealing used underwear from female relatives and close friends for years to allegedly satisfy his fetish. The revelation came during what she described as an open and honest conversation one night, when her husband unexpectedly admitted to his long-hidden habit.
Describing him as a “panty thief”, the woman said she believed she knew her partner inside out after 30 years together. While she was aware that he had an underwear fetish, she never imagined it involved theft, particularly from people within their own family and social circle.
According to her account, the husband confessed to taking used panties from the homes of relatives and friends and using them for sexual gratification. The admission, she said, shattered her sense of trust and safety. “I’m sickened by it, and feel today disgusted, betrayed, and inadequate. What is wrong with him?” she wrote.
Experts quoted in the advice column said such behaviour goes beyond a breach of marital trust and amounts to a serious violation of personal boundaries and privacy for those affected. The woman was advised that the situation is not normal and that seeking immediate help from a professional counsellor would be essential.
