Four alleged members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang arrested in Delhi have reportedly told investigators that they had planned to open fire outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai before targeting
actor Tiger Shroff, but abandoned the plan after finding heavy police security outside the actor’s house.
The accused allegedly conducted a recce of Khan’s residence but returned after noticing police personnel deployed outside. Following these revelations, security has once again been tightened outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area, with police personnel deployed inside and outside the building and on both sides of the road.
A patrolling van from the local Bandra Police Station was also present at the location.
The alleged revelation comes after unidentified persons opened fire at Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, October 18.
The incident took place around 7 pm as the actor was leaving a football club. While Shroff escaped direct gunshot injuries, his driver sustained injuries in the firing.
Earlier too, police personnel wearing bulletproof jackets, along with police vehicles, were seen outside Galaxy Apartments in Bandra.
According to news agency ANI, the attackers had allegedly tracked Shroff’s movements and knew about his regular Sunday visits to the football ground.
Investigators suspect that the attackers conducted a recce of the area and familiarised themselves with the actor’s routine before carrying out the shooting.
How The Accused Allegedly Escaped After The Firing
The suspects allegedly fled along SV Road after the shooting, passing through Vile Parle and Andheri.
They reportedly abandoned their motorcycle near Andheri West railway station before boarding a train towards Borivali.
The four alleged members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were arrested in Delhi. During interrogation, they reportedly revealed that Salman Khan had been their intended target before the attack involving Shroff.
The accused were subsequently produced before a court in Kota on Monday, which granted the Mumbai Police a 48-hour transit remand.
An FIR was registered against three unidentified persons in connection with the shooting. The case includes charges under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.
Eknath Shinde Visits Tiger Shroff After Firing
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Tiger Shroff’s residence on Sunday night following the incident.
Shinde said the actor had sustained injuries to his left hand from gunpowder and glass fragments. He added that Shroff and his mother, Ayesha Shroff, were shaken by the incident and assured them of the state government’s support.
Separately, Devendra Budiya, a representative of the Bishnoi community in Jodhpur, appealed to Salman Khan to apologise to the community and seek a peaceful resolution to the dispute.
Budiya said that apologising to a community would not diminish a person’s stature. He also said he had tried to counsel those involved around a year and a half ago.
“I will keep going on until Salman Khan apologises. I talked to him about a year and a half ago. I explained it to him a lot. I told him, ‘You’re going to lose your life. You’re a superstar, don’t act like this.’ Then he said, ‘Okay, okay, I’ll do it,’ and later, he didn’t meet,” Budiya told ANI.
Budiya also said he had spoken to Lawrence Bishnoi and urged him not to prolong the dispute.
“I had a chat with Lawrence. A friend of his arranged it. So I told him, ‘Brother, don’t give him any names. He’ll be back within a year, and he’ll apologise too. Your work is a bit like this, so just do good work. What will we gain by hitting him?’ He said, ‘I’ll give him 12 months, and he’ll apologise in a year or a year and a half.’ But it has started all over again,” Budiya said.
He added that he had asked Khan to visit a temple and apologise, expressing confidence that the dispute could be resolved through dialogue.
“I asked Salman to come to the temple here and apologise. Our society is very compassionate,” he added.
Unverified Social Media Post Claims Responsibility
The tension between Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi has resurfaced following a purported social media post claiming responsibility for the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff.
“Those in Mumbai Industry Who Work With Salman Khan and Don’t Listen to Us Will Meet the Same Fate,” the unverified post stated.
However, the authenticity of the post and its alleged connection to the firing incident remain unverified.
