Travis Head is on fire for Australia with the bat in the ongoing fifth and final Test of the 2025-26 Ashes series against England. On Day 3 of the match taking place at Sydney Cricket Ground, he slammed
his 12th Test century for the Baggy Greens and his third one of the ongoing series. Head completed his century by scoring a four on the first ball of the 40th over of Australia’s first innings bowled by pacer Josh Tongue. The left-handed batter needed just 105 balls to reach the 100-run mark and has slammed 17 fours so far.
The century by Head on Tuesday morning is his first triple-digit score in a Test match played at Sydney Cricket Ground, and with that he has joined an elite list of players.
Head becomes only the fifth cricketer in the world to score a Test hundred at seven different venues in Australia. Before him, former Australian skipper Steve Waugh and openers Justin Langer, Matthew Hayden and David Warner have also achieved the same feat.
Head, who made his Test debut for the Aussies in Dubai on October 7, 2018, against Pakistan, and is playing his 65th Test match these days, has scored four centuries in his last four Tests played at Adelaide Oval. Head also has two centuries to his credit at The Gabba in Brisbane and one century each at Manuka Oval in Canberra, Bellerive Oval in Hobart, Optus Stadium in Perth, Melbourne Cricket Ground and Sydney Cricket Ground.
