Heavy monsoon showers continued to lash Mumbai and several parts of Maharashtra on Monday, with visuals showing flooded roads, waterlogged subways, landslides and traffic disruptions across the state.
In Mumbai, visuals from the Andheri subway showed vehicles wading through waterlogged stretches as heavy rain affected traffic movement in the city. Continuous rainfall since morning has led to water accumulation in several low-lying areas.

The impact of the downpour was also visible on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, where a major landslide occurred on the “Missing Link” section near the Khandala exit. Visuals from the spot showed debris covering the Mumbai-bound lane, forcing authorities to completely shut the carriageway. According to preliminary information, no casualties have been reported, and efforts are underway to reopen the route.

Heavy rain also disrupted traffic on the Pune–Mumbai Expressway and the old Mumbai–Pune Highway. Officials said landslides at multiple locations have brought traffic to a standstill in both directions, while flood-like conditions have been reported in Maval and Tamhini Ghat.
In Pune, visuals showed waterlogged roads in the Paud Road area after persistent rainfall over the past three days. The district remains under a red alert, with schools shut for the day as authorities urged residents to remain cautious.

Meanwhile, rescue operations are underway in Patan village of Mawal taluka after a landslide hit a house early Monday morning. Preliminary information suggests an entire family may be trapped under the debris. The District Information Office said a 30-member NDRF team has been deployed to the site, and no casualties have been officially reported so far.

Visuals from Vasai-Virar also showed severe waterlogging in several localities, including Vasant Nagari and Nalasopara Railway Station Road. Floodwaters entered homes and shops, while several vehicles stalled on submerged roads, disrupting normal movement.
Authorities remain on alert as heavy rainfall continues across Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra, with rescue and restoration efforts underway at affected locations.
