“India and Gujarat hold a cherished place in our shared history” — the Consulate General of Iran in Mumbai wrote in a post on ‘X’, soon after Indian LPG carrier ‘Green Sanvi’ passed the war-hit Strait
of Hormuz.
The Iranian Consulate General was responding to an ‘X’ post by Gujarat minister Harsh Sanghavi, who hailed the development as a “victory for Indian diplomacy”.
“One more ship. One more victory for Indian diplomacy. LPG carrier Green Sanvi has crossed the Strait of Hormuz and is on its way home to India”, Sanghvi wrote.

Responding to the minister’s remarks, Iran wrote, “India, & #Gujarat in particular, hold a cherished place in our shared history; having graciously welcomed those from our land centuries ago.”

The Strait of Hormuz — a vital maritime chokepoint that accounts for nearly one-fifth of the global oil and gas trade — was effectively blocked by Tehran in the wake of the coordinated U.S.-Israeli strikes.

Earlier today, the LPG tanker ‘Green Sanvi’ successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz and is now moving towards India, becoming the seventh vessel to pass through the critical lane.
Two more vessels — Green Asha and Jag Vikram — are expected to arrive in India in the coming days, reflecting continued movement of Indian energy shipments despite the escalating tensions in West Asia.
