Star England and Rajasthan Royals pacer Jofra Archer was seen fuming at skipper Riyan Parag for not giving him the desired field and conceding a boundary, only for him to step up and dismiss a hard-hitting
Priyansh Arya four deliveries later, during their match against Punjab Kings on Tuesday.

Shreyas Iyer’s team had already established one of the most formidable batting line-ups of the season, driven by fearless starts from Arya and Prabhsimran Singh and further underlined by their record 265-run chase against Delhi Capitals.
Riyan’s team needed early control against the table-toppers and with Archer taking the new ball, the execution had to be spot-on. Against PBKS’ aggressive openers, even a slight lapse in attacking intent could prove costly.
Arya had already smashed 21 runs off Nandre Burger’s opening over as PBKS raced to 29/0 after two overs. Archer responded in the third over, delivering what Riyan’s team needed.
Off the very first delivery, Archer hit a hard back-of-a-length ball in the off-stump channel, cramping Arya for room and forcing him into a tentative shot away from his body, resulting in a thick outside edge.

The ball flew to the left of wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, who dived but could not reach it as the chance went too wide, with no first slip in position. What stood out, however, was Archer’s reaction that followed.
Archer turned towards captain Riyan in visible frustration, gesturing for a slip fielder. Moments later, the broadcast caught him saying, “I didn’t even see that,” suggesting he had not realised before delivering the ball that RR had left the catching position vacant.
