Taylor Swift is revisiting one of the darkest moments of her Eras Tour in her newly released Disney+ docuseries, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour | The End of an Era. The first two episodes, which premiered
on Dec. 12, capture the singer processing the terror plot that forced the cancellation of her three Vienna concerts in August 2024.
Authorities arrested three men linked to an Islamic State-inspired plan that the CIA warned aimed to kill “tens of thousands of people.” In the docuseries, Swift, 35, describes the overwhelming fear and unease that followed as she prepared for her first show after the threat — a massive return at London’s Wembley Stadium.
“It’s just kind of a weird feeling… like I’m skating on thin ice,” she says from her hotel room. “We dodged, like, a massacre situation. And so I’ve just been kind of all over the place.” Growing visibly emotional, she also mentions a violent attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party in Liverpool, saying, “I have a hard time explaining it.”

Backstage before her Aug. 15 London show, Swift tells her mother Andrea she feels “twitchy and fidgety” yet determined to “get back on the horse.” She adds, “From a mental standpoint, being like afraid that something’s gonna happen to your fans at any moment, this is a new challenge.”
Mourning Fans Lost in Stabbing as She Returns to Stage
Alongside navigating the terror scare, Swift was grieving the deaths of three young fans killed during a stabbing at a Swift-themed dance and yoga class in Southport on July 29. In the docuseries, she describes wanting to offer joy and escapism but feeling “like a pilot flying the plane” through intense turbulence.
Before her London run, Swift met with victims and their families. After one meeting, dressed in her orange “The Man” jacket, she breaks down in tears moments before going onstage. Andrea gently comforts her, saying, “I know you helped them.”
Swift also reunites with longtime friend Ed Sheeran backstage, sharing that she felt she “need[ed] to do this show” to reconnect with the joy of performing. After her triumphant return, she excitedly calls fiancé Travis Kelce, telling him, “I’m so happy,” to which he replies, “I can hear it in your voice.”
The first two episodes of the six-part docuseries, along with The Eras Tour | The Final Show from Vancouver, are now streaming on Disney+.
