To accommodate the surge in travelers during the upcoming Holi and Ugadi festivals, South Western Railway (SWR) has announced special express train services. These trains will connect SSS Hubballi in Karnataka
to Muzaffarpur in Bihar. The initiative aims to provide a comfortable journey for tourists and those returning home for the festive season.
Service Overview
The special service consists of five trips in each direction. It is strategically designed to handle the extra rush expected during the festive season and long weekends in March and April 2026. The trains will follow an extensive route passing through major cities in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.
The train features a 23-coach composition to maximize capacity. This includes a mix of AC Two-Tier, AC Three-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches.
The special express trains will feature a total of 23 coaches, including AC, Sleeper, and General classes, to ensure convenience for tourists and to manage the additional rush during the Holi festival,” stated Dr. Manjunath Kanamadi, Chief Public Relations Officer of South Western Railway.
