In Mumbai, house tours are no longer just about décor; they’re reality checks. A recent video by a city-based content creator proves exactly this. In the clip, the woman revealed the rent she pays for
her Bandra apartment, leaving many viewers stunned at the cost of living in India’s financial capital.
At the very start of the clip, the creator jokes that her monthly rent costs her “both kidneys” before clarifying that she pays Rs 1.11 lakh per month, including maintenance. The video, shared on Instagram by another creator, features a detailed tour of her 2BHK apartment in Bandra, one of Mumbai’s most sought-after neighbourhoods.
She affectionately calls her home “Baddie Bhavan.” The flat opens into a spacious living area designed in shades of white, taupe and beige. Despite previously mentioning that the apartment measures around 600 square feet, many viewers were surprised at how large it appeared on camera.
As a full-time content creator, she also showed her professional lighting setup, explaining that she uses it for shoots and content production. The tour continues as she shows her two bedrooms, kitchen and a small balcony. While she chose not to disclose her income, she acknowledged that living in Mumbai, especially in upscale areas like Bandra, comes at a high cost.
Rents For Bandra Flats
According to her, rents for similar 2BHK flats in Bandra typically range between Rs 85,000 and Rs 1.5 lakh per month, depending on size and amenities. Bandra West remains one of Mumbai’s most premium localities due to its vibrant cultural scene, popular restaurants and cafes and closeness to commercial hubs. Well, these are the factors that continue to drive rental demand.
Debate Over Price Tag
The video, upon being shared on Instagram, quickly sparked discussion online. One user commented, “Oh wow. So you’re paying Rs 1,11,000 rent, living solo… But apparently, you need Rs 1.5–2 lakh rent to live comfortably? Either Bandra has launched a new subscription tier, or the math has quietly moved out to a cheaper suburb.”
Others focused on the size of the apartment. One viewer asked, “This is 660 sqft???” while another wrote, “That looked way bigger than 600 sq ft!” The creator who shared the video responded, “Hey, it’s actually 630 sq ft. Shot on 0.5 wide angle, so the perspective feels different on camera.”
Another light-hearted comment read, “Time to become a full-time content creator.”
The viral house tour has once again highlighted Mumbai’s soaring rental market and the price tag that often comes with a Bandra address.
