Gujarat Titans (GT) began their preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season on Wednesday, with newly-appointed batting coach Matthew Hayden leading the training session. Players
such as Sai Sudharshan, Anuj Rawat, Washington Sundar and Shahrukh Khan participated in the training session on March 18.
The schedule for the first phase of the IPL 2026 season has been announced, with the Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans set to open their campaign against the Punjab Kings in Mullanpur on March 31. Their first home game of the season will be against the Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 4. Following the Rajasthan match, GT will travel to Delhi to face the Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 8, and then play against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on April 12.
In the IPL 2025 season, Gujarat Titans reached the playoffs but were defeated by the Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator match. A significant factor in their success was the exceptional performance of their top-order batters. Sai Sudharsan scored 759 runs, Shubman Gill 650 runs, and Jos Buttler 538 runs, helping the team reach the playoffs.
Since their debut in 2022, the Gujarat Titans have been one of the most consistent teams in the IPL, making it to the playoffs in three of their first four seasons and winning the title in their inaugural campaign.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for the first phase of IPL 2026, which will be held from March 28 to April 12, 2026.
