A young fan was left inconsolable after failing to catch the attention of batting superstar Virat Kohli while trying to get an autograph. The child approached Kohli a couple of times but was stopped by
officials.
Unnoticed by the cricketer, the boy eventually walked away empty-handed, breaking down in tears and throwing his bat in frustration.
While News18 could not independently verify when the video was recorded, Kohli was in the national capital on Monday night for his IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s clash with Delhi Capitals.

Kohli played a key role in the match, scoring the winning runs with back-to-back sixes off T Natarajan in a comfortable victory at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The win lifted RCB to second place on the IPL 2026 points table.
The nine-wicket triumph was set up by RCB’s bowlers, who bundled out Delhi Capitals for just 75 in 16.3 overs after reducing them to 13/6 at one stage. The new-ball pair of Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismantled the top order early.
Three DC batters – debutant Sahil Parakh, Sameer Rizvi, and captain Axar Patel – were dismissed without scoring. Abishek Porel (30), David Miller (19), and Kyle Jamieson (12) attempted to rebuild the innings, but RCB’s attack proved too strong.
Notably, at the same venue just days earlier, Delhi Capitals had posted 264/2 and Punjab Kings chased it down rather comfortably.
On Monday, chasing a modest target, an in-form RCB got off to a flying start through openers Kohli and Jacob Bethell (20 off 11). Devdutt Padikkal, batting at No. 3, top-scored with an unbeaten 34, while Kohli remained not out on 23 as the defending champions completed the chase in just 6.3 overs.
Kohli has now scored 351 runs from eight innings and is currently fourth in the race for the Orange Cap that is currently being led by Abhishek Sharma (380) of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
RCB will be back in action when they face Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on May 30.
