Known for her refined taste in Indian handlooms and heirloom jewellery, Nita Ambani once again delivered a masterclass in timeless ethnic dressing. From richly woven silks to rare gemstone-studded jewels,
her wardrobe consistently celebrates India’s artisanal legacy—and her latest appearance was no exception.
A regal Banarasi moment
At a recent cultural event attended alongside her husband, Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani stepped out in a striking peacock blue Banarasi silk saree that instantly commanded attention. The look surfaced in a video shared on Instagram on December 8, showing the couple admiring a portrait painted by an artist, an interaction that subtly highlighted their long-standing patronage of art and culture through the Reliance Foundation.
The six-yard drape featured intricate meenakari-inspired motifs, traditional kadhua weaving, and jewel-like embellishments that elevated its grandeur. Finished with a lustrous gold zari border, the saree struck a perfect balance between opulence and classic restraint. Styled in a conventional drape with crisp front pleats and the pallu resting fluidly over the shoulder, the ensemble felt effortlessly elegant.
Blouse details that stand out
Complementing the saree was a coordinated silk blouse in a matching tone. Designed with a deep U-shaped neckline and a sculpted, body-hugging fit, the blouse featured a backless silhouette secured with delicate dori ties. Gold tassels, sequin embroidery on the elbow-length sleeves, and jewel accents along the borders added layers of detail without overpowering the look.

Jewellery takes centre stage
True to her signature style, the jewellery played a starring role. Nita Ambani accessorised with bold gold statement earrings, layered bracelets, an ornate ring, and a traditional hath phool, each piece reinforcing the regal mood of the outfit. The all-gold selection complemented the richness of the Banarasi silk while keeping the aesthetic rooted in tradition.
Beauty and finishing touches
Keeping the styling classic, she swept her hair into a sleek bun adorned with fresh white flowers. Her makeup stayed elegant and understated: softly feathered brows, a red bindi, winged eyeliner, voluminous lashes, rosy cheeks, and a muted mauve-pink lip shade. The result was a polished, heritage-inspired look that felt both ceremonial and timeless.
Once again, Nita Ambani proved that when it comes to celebrating Indian craftsmanship be it through handwoven textiles or heritage jewellery, she sets the gold standard.
