Actress Sumona Chakravarti, best known for her role in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, has joined the internet’s favourite “then-and-now” trend. Taking to Instagram, she shared a throwback picture from 2015–2016
along with two current ones.
Interestingly, in both sets of photos, the actress is seen sporting the same haircut—at the same salon.
Sumona Chakravarti Brings Her 2015 Haircut Back
On Tuesday, the actress posted a set of pictures comparing her present look with her decade-old one. The first photo is from 2015–2016, while the other two were taken on December 16, 2025. Both the “then and now” pictures were clicked at the same salon, right after getting the same haircut.
In her caption, she wrote, “Then & Now. 1st pic – 2015–16. Almost a decade later…
2nd & 3rd pic – today i.e 16th Dec 2025.”
She also credited her hairstylist, Amanda Carvalho, for digging the old picture out of the archives. Sumona added,
“Amanda Carvalho decided to dig into the archives & send me this old picture.”
Sumona Chakravarty On Heartbreak and Healing
Before posting the throwback, she took to Instagram to reflect on the kind of stories that linger long after the last page is turned. She opened up about heartbreak, healing, and the quiet comfort of familiar emotions. She shared her thoughts on Dolly Alderton’s novel Good Material, admitting that the book didn’t fully grip her at first, but in the final 50–60 pages, everything suddenly clicked into place.
She wrote: “#GoodMaterial by Dolly Alderton really did turn out to be good material. It didn’t grab me at first, but somewhere along the way, especially in the last 50–60 pages—it all clicked. The parts that once felt a little slow suddenly made sense.”
The actress added: “If you’ve ever had your heart broken, pick this up. You’ll laugh. You’ll feel nostalgic. So much of it will resonate. A bittersweet memory might surface. You may smile with teary eyes. If you’ve healed, you’ll laugh freely. If you haven’t, it offers a gentle third-person perspective. Tender, funny, and quietly comforting.

Sumona is best known for her work in the TV drama Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, as well as her appearances on Comedy Nights with Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show. In 2024, she took part in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, finishing in seventh place. She has also appeared in the film Phir Se, directed by Kunal Kohli and Ajay Bhuyan.
