Mumbai is battling heavy rains right now, and amid this, videos of water entering Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu residence have surfaced on social media. In his new blog, while he didn’t react to the viral clips,
he spoke about the weather and thanked his fans who battled the heavy rain to show up outside his residence every Sunday.
Amitabh Bachchan took to his Tumblr blog, where he spoke about his weekly Sunday ritual amid the relentless Mumbai rains and said, “A wave, folded palms… a signing of autographs… and they endure and leave… my respect, as always.”
“They come despite the weather, rain, shine, winter… and the same enthusiasm… so deeply moving for me,” he further added.
While speaking about the ongoing monsoon and the heavy rain affecting many, he added, “The rains do not abate… flooding continues… yes, Monsoon delayed, and now the water resources — the surrounding lakes filling up… some difficulty to dwellers… farming… but this too shall pass.”
“Be well, all… be safe… venture out only if absolutely urgent… as in Mumbai… but in general too… all of you are too precious,” the legendary actor continued.
Videos from outside Jalsa go viral
The clips, shared by several social media users, show rainwater accumulating outside Jalsa, with blocked drains adding to the flooding around the residence.Some videos also appear to show water entering the compound of Jalsa as Mumbai continued to receive heavy rainfall over the weekend.
As the visuals spread online, fans reacted to the flooding outside one of Mumbai’s most well-known celebrity homes. The videos went viral as people across the city continued sharing visuals of flooded roads, waterlogged neighbourhoods, and traffic disruptions caused by the monsoon showers.
What’s next for Amitabh Bachchan?
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan will next be seen in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film also stars Prabhas and Kamal Haasan. The first instalment, released in 2024, turned out to be a blockbuster, earning over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide. Amitabh’s performance as Ashwatthama received widespread praise, and he will reprise the role in the sequel. The makers are yet to announce the film’s release date.
