England Vs New Zealand Highlights 1st Test Day 4: In what was a frustrating Day 3, rain repeatedly interrupted England’s push for victory against New Zealand in the first Test at Lord’s on Saturday, but
the hosts still moved within five wickets of a 1-0 series lead.
Only 9.4 overs were possible on a stop-start third day as fast bowler Ollie Robinson claimed the day’s only two wickets, reducing New Zealand to 55/5 in their second innings while chasing 254. Play began two hours late and was halted by three further rain delays, the last shortly after 2 p.m., ending any hopes of additional action.
The lively pitch continued to offer pronounced seam movement and bounce, leaving batters struggling. Thirty-five wickets have fallen in less than two days of normal play, with Joe Root and Kane Williamson combining for just 27 runs.
Resuming at 36/3, New Zealand lost Rachin Ravindra for 8 and Daryl Mitchell for a three-ball duck, both to Robinson. Devon Conway remained unbeaten on 19, alongside Tom Blundell on 2.
