UP Warriorz batter Harleen Deol was left surprised after being asked by the dressing room to retire out. Batting on 47, the star batter was denied a fifty as she was asked to come off the field. Harleen became
only the second player in WPL’s history to be ‘retired out’ after Gujarat Giants’ Ayushi Soni was brought off against the Mumbai Indians on Tuesday.
The Warriorz struggled to maintain the tempo against Delhi’s attack despite skipper Meg Lanning scoring a fifty. Harleen was en route to one before suffering the blow in the 18th over. UPW head coach Abhishek Nayar seemed to ask her to make way for Chloe Tryon. However, the move didn’t yield the desired outcome.
Another “retired out” incident from WPL.

Tryon was soon dismissed by Shree Charani as the South African all-rounder managed just one run off three balls. Warriorz were restricted to 154 for eight with Marizanne Kapp and Shafali Verma picking up two wickets apiece.
