Deepika Padukone has embraced one of the most transformative roles of her life — motherhood — marking a deeply emotional and defining phase in her personal journey. The actress became a mother in September
2024, when she and husband Ranveer Singh welcomed their daughter, Dua. Now, Deepika has talked about how obsessed she is with her daughter.

When asked about the weirdest thing in her bag, she said, “The weirdest thing in my bag? There was a piece of thepla that she (Dua) was eating, and I found it after two days.” She also revealed how she sings “head, shoulder, knees and toes” for Dua. Deepika was also asked about a phrase that she uses a lot. “In a good way, I’ve been saying I love you a lot to my baby,” Deepika said.
Since becoming a mother, Deepika has spoken sparingly but thoughtfully about her daughter, describing motherhood as life-altering, grounding and profoundly emotional. In interactions, she has shared how the experience has shifted her perspective, making her more present and appreciative of the small, everyday moments. She has also expressed a strong desire to give her daughter a normal, secure upbringing, away from the pressures of fame that come with being born into a film family.
Deepika has often reflected on the influence of her own parents, particularly her mother, in shaping her values and emotional strength. That influence now finds a new meaning as she steps into parenting herself. Known for her openness about mental health and balance, the actress has indicated that motherhood has deepened her understanding of patience, empathy and unconditional love.
