A 35-year-old man died of a heart attack after collapsing at his son’s school in Assam’s Jorhat district last Thursday. The man has been identified as Dipankar Bordoloi. It is learnt that Bordoloi had
taken the day off work to visit Samford School, where UKG results were being announced.
After collecting his son’s result and while exiting the school premises, he suddenly collapsed. The tragic incident was captured on CCTV. The footage shows the man walking through what appears to be a school lobby toward the exit gate when he suddenly loses balance, appearing to reach out for support, and falls face-first to the ground.
People present at the school rushed him to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, according to a report in NDTV.
The 35-year-old was a resident of Sonari Gaon in Jorhat and worked as an Executive Engineer in the Assam government’s Irrigation Department under the Teok Division. He is survived by his wife, a homemaker, and their child. Family members said he was physically fit and had no known history of serious illness.
The incident has left the school community in shock, with teachers, parents, and students deeply affected by the sudden death. The case adds to a growing number of reports of cardiac arrest-related deaths among younger adults. Earlier this month, Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal’s son, Agnivesh Agarwal, died at 49 after suffering a cardiac arrest in New York, while last week, singer and actor Prashant Tamang died at 43 following a cardiac arrest at his home in New Delhi.
