Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan are expected to reunite for a comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee. While an official announcement is still awaited, the possibility of this collaboration has already grabbed
attention among fans. Well, both have worked together on three films and their chemistry has impressed fans.
Filmfare quoted sources revealing that Vidya’s name has emerged in early during discussions, and the decision was unanimously welcomed by the team. “Akshay and Vidya share effortless chemistry as actors, something audiences have loved in films like Heyy Babyy (2007), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) and Mission Mangal. Off screen too, they share a warm equation, which made this an easy yes for everyone involved,” the source revealed.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Anees confirmed the news and said, “It is a comedy. I am writing the script right now, it’s almost complete. If everything goes as planned, we will start shooting soon.” It is being reported that their film is the remake of Telugu action comedy, Sankranthiki Vasthunam. When asked about it, Anees didn’t divulge any details. He also reflected on his long standing association with Akshay. “There is mutual love and respect between us. When I told him about this film, he was more than happy,” he said.
Pinkvilla reported that the film is currently in its pre-production stage and is expected to go on floors in February 2026. The casting process for the female lead and other key roles is underway. In true Anees Bazmee style, the film will feature a strong ensemble cast, promising wholesome entertainment for audiences across all age groups.
