Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the Centre’s “India First” policy and diplomatic outreach helped India navigate the global energy crisis without facing shortages of petrol or diesel, even as
crude oil prices surged worldwide.
Addressing a public gathering in Rajasthan, the Prime Minister said the government protected national interests while ensuring uninterrupted fuel supplies and expanding India’s energy partnerships.
“We ensured India first policy,” PM Modi said, adding, “Our diplomacy worked during the crisis.”
Referring to the global fuel crisis, the Prime Minister said, “Crude oil prices soared,” while “diesel prices gone up by 40% throughout the world.” Despite these challenges, he asserted that India remained unaffected by any fuel shortage.
“We did not let petrol crisis prevail in India… rumours were speard but they could not succeed,” he said.
“There was no challenge in supply of diesel and petrol,” the Prime Minister added.
Highlighting India’s role in the global energy market, PM Modi said the country continued exporting refined fuel while safeguarding domestic interests.
“We exported fuel from more than 40 countries and let the whole world know that for us country is first for us,” he said.

Speaking about domestic LPG supply, the Prime Minister said the government ensured uninterrupted availability of cooking gas despite global disruptions.
“We ensured smooth supply of LPG supply,” he said.
Claiming that international prices could have significantly increased the burden on consumers, PM Modi said, “LPG rates could have gone Rs 2000 but we supplied cylinders at Rs 950.”
He also highlighted the Centre’s welfare schemes, saying, “Poor got cylinders through Ujjwal Yojna.”

Beginning his address, the Prime Minister thanked the people for the large turnout.
“Lakhs of people have come today,” he said, describing Rajasthan as “a land of braves.”
Highlighting infrastructure development, PM Modi said an important step had been taken towards building an “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.”
“Imp step taken today towards aatma nirbhar bharat,” he said.
Congratulating young beneficiaries, the Prime Minister said, “I congratulate the youth of Rajasthan for the refinery.”
He also announced, “Today 54000 youth received the appointment letter of govt jobs.”
Referring to the refinery project, PM Modi praised the pace of work.
“What happened two months back in the refinery….work was done in such a high speed which reflects hard work,” he said.
He further announced that the “Metro project will be expanded in Jaipur.”
Targeting the Opposition while highlighting his government’s record, PM Modi said, “BJP does not leaves promises unfulfilled.”
