Yash’s upcoming film Toxic: A Love Story for Grown-Ups is already making waves, even before its release. The action-packed drama, directed by Geetu Mohandas, has landed a significant overseas distribution
deal for its Indian-language versions with Phars Film, valued at Rs 105 crore on a commission basis. The deal covers the Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam versions, while the English version remains excluded.
The announcement adds to the film’s growing pre-release momentum. Earlier, Toxic made headlines by securing a Rs 120 crore distribution deal in the Andhra Pradesh–Telangana market with Sri Venkateswara Creations, marking the first time a non-Telugu film achieved such a figure in the region. Together, these agreements highlight strong and sustained trade confidence in the film, even as promotions remain minimal and no teaser has yet been released.
Phars Film will manage the international release of the Indian-language versions. In a statement, Ahmad Golchin, CEO and Founder of Phars Film, said, “With Toxic, our aim is to support a story that can travel across borders. We look forward to presenting the film to audiences overseas and seeing how it connects with viewers from different backgrounds.” The film is expected to release across most overseas markets, with Nepal, Japan, and China currently not part of the rollout plan. Golchin added, “This release is an important step for us, and we’re keen to ensure the film reaches audiences in as many territories as possible.”
Producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions highlighted the film’s ambition as a driving factor behind the overseas deal. “Toxic has been conceived as a film with a broad cinematic language. For a project of this size, it was important to work with an overseas partner that has strong reach and experience, and Phars Film fits that requirement,” he said.
The film follows the success of Yash’s previous blockbuster, KGF: Chapter 2, which performed exceptionally in international markets and has set high expectations for Toxic. Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has been shot in Kannada and English, with plans for dubbed versions across multiple Indian languages.
