O Romeo, Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor’s long-awaited reunion is all set to hit theatres this February, and just weeks before the film’s release, the makers have dropped the trailer of the intense
thriller. The movie introduces audiences to Romeo: Ustara, raw, untamed, and deeply conflicted, a gangster shaped by love and violence, portrayed by Shahid Kapoor in a commanding new avatar.
The trailer offers a glimpse into Ustara’s world, set in the heart of the underbelly of Mumbai. At its core, O Romeo is anchored by the compelling chemistry between Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, a relationship expressed through silences, restrained emotions, and unspoken longing. Inspired by true events, this Vishal Bhardwaj directorial weaves together romance, action, and emotional depth with his signature storytelling style.
The trailer introduces moviegoers to the film’s characters, with Triptii Dimri and Shahid Kapoor playing the leads and conflicted lovers, while Avinash Tiwary shows much of his villainous side. The 3-minute, 8-second trailer features intense dialogues like: “Hum aapke hain kaun? Madhuri Dixit,” “Jab kahunga, nachna padega,” “Ustara se panga nahi lene ka,” and “Shareer se aatma katke le jaata hai.”
The trailer also gives a peek into the glamorous side of Ustara’s world, showing dynamic moments between Shahid Kapoor and Disha Patani.

O Romeo in legal trouble
While speaking with India Today, Hussain Ustara’s daughter, Sanober Shaikh, raised objections to how her father’s relationship with Sapna Didi is allegedly portrayed in the film. According to her, the two shared a sibling-like bond, something she believes has been misrepresented. She said, “She was like a sister to my baba, but as per the film, they are showing a romantic angle, which is absolutely wrong. We are demanding a pre-screening for the film so we can understand what it is all about. If they are taking my father’s story, they should keep it real. We are ready to fight the case till the end.”
