Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are all set to tie the knot on February 26. Soon after putting all speculations to rest and confirming the news of their wedding in a special social media post dedicated
to fans, the lovebirds were spotted at the airport as they jetted off to their wedding venue . Reports suggest that the couple’s wedding will take place at Mementos by ITC Hotels in Udaipur, a venue located about 25 kilometres outside the city in the scenic Aravalli.
Now, News18 has an exclusive update on their pre-wedding soirees. A well-placed source tells us that the couple is throwing a lavish dinner party for their families and guests tonight at the venue. “As Vijay and Rashmika gear up for their big day, they’re hosting a big party. Top in-house chefs are coming together to curate a special bespoke menu. The elaborate spread will include some of their favourite dishes. It marks one of their first pre-wedding get-togethers,” the source says.
Reports also suggest that the couple has decided to keep the wedding private, with only close family and friends in attendance. Insiders say they have chosen not to invite members of the film industry to maintain an intimate celebration. However, following their Udaipur wedding, the couple plans a grand reception in Hyderabad on March 4, reportedly at Taj Krishna, that will see their friends, colleagues and who’s who from the Telugu film industry in attendance.
Another birdie informs us that despite it being a closed-door event, the wedding, which is being touted as one of the biggest celebrity weddings in recent times, will be an opulent affair. Vijay and Rashmika, apparently, are personally looking into the themes, the colour pallets and the decorations. The security has already been tightened inside Udaipur’s Mementoes as they don’t want pictures from the venue to get leaked. As per speculations, the actors have also declined a Rs 60 crore streaming offer for their wedding video.
On a related note, Rashmika and Vijay first met on the sets of Geetha Govindam before reuniting for Dear Comrade. They’re also awaiting the release of their third Telugu film, Ranabaali, which is slated for a September 11 release. In the aforementioned heartfelt announcement, they had revealed that their wedding will officially be known as ‘The Wedding of VIROSH’. The couple stated that the name was not inspired by planners or family traditions, but by their fans, who years ago lovingly joined their names to create ‘VIROSH’.
They wrote, “Our Dearest loves, Before we made any plans, before we chose anything for ourselves, you were already there. With so much love, you gave us a name. You called us ‘VIROSH’. So today, with full hearts, we name our coming together in your honour. We would like to name it, ‘The Wedding of VIROSH’. Thank you for holding us with so much love. You are a part of us, always. Biggest hugs and full love!”
